Hugo has issues, or at least that is what Hugo’s mistress told my mistress. Sadly I seem to be one of his issues. Hugo is my new neighbour. He’s a black Labrador a bit younger than me but he doesn’t like me very much. His brother is ok, he’s a bit younger and we have wagged our tails at each other but Hugo isn’t so sure about everything. I’ve tried to explain that I’m harmless but that didn’t work. He may of course be jealous as his master thinks I’ve got a lovely face. It seems in this village everyone has a dog. My owners are already becoming known by their dog, me. It’s not a big village and it turns out that everyone knows everyone and by going to the pub on Saturday evening, without me I hasten to add, it turns out that it won’t be long before my owners know everyone too. It turns out that they play hockey on unicycles here. The worry is that my mistress wants to try. She has wanted a unicycle for ages but so far my master has convinced her that it isn’t a good idea. How is he going to persuade her in a village where even the paper-boy delivers by unicycle? Unicycle has got to be a better option for dogs too, holding the handle bars is always tricky with paws, so having something with no handle bars has got to be easier.
The house is starting to look a little straighter. James has brought some of his stuff down to the house and it starts to look like a lived in room. I tried to help him but he told me to go away, which I didn’t think was very nice of him. I hope he doesn’t say that to me all the time when he moves in.
