The builders think they will be finished by the end of this week. I can’t see it myself as there still looks like quite a lot to do, even from a dog’s perspective. I’m going to miss them when they’ve gone, in a funny sort of way, although it will be nice to have our garden back to being our own and being able to go and play in it whenever we like. My Mistress hopes to put in a summer house so that she can be more outside with us. She has it all planned, it’s just a question of sorting it out but unfortunately she wants a break from projects for a few weeks. She wants to get her second novel finished so that she can try to find a publisher for it.
For the moment we have more important things to think about though. James is starting his new school today. We all waved him off in the car this morning and hoped that it all went well. He will go by bus normally, but for his first day that seemed a little harsh. I just hope he gets up in time to catch the bus, as otherwise he will have a long walk.
I’ve been going through my Mistress’s photographs from her trip. I can’t imagine what it must be like to live in a country where there are so many dogs that look quite like me. People here always ask if we are related, because they don’t realise it is just that we are the same breed and I guess if you go far enough back then we are.
