I know there are dogs who roll in mud and dogs that run through mud, but I’m not one of them. I confess, I really don’t like mud. When we go for a walk our Mistress parks so I can get out on the least muddy side, but you’d be amazed at how long I judge where I’ve got to jump to before getting out, so that I can miss as much of the mud as possible when I land. I can’t explain it really. Of course, I hate getting my fur dirty, but I don’t like it squelching between my toes either. It’s a complete mud dislike thing. Anyway, the walk we normally do has got very muddy so I’m a bit fed up. Our Mistress let me walk at the airfield instead, which is where Shadow and Wilma walk, but that’s too hard underfoot for most of the walk so I end up limping. The long and the short of it is that I’m thinking of asking if she’ll buy me a treadmill so I can still exercise but stay inside in the warm while I’m doing it. If I explain the benefits to her in getting one do you think she might go for it?
If you didn’t know Alfie, you’d probably think he was fine, but there are odd little signs that things aren’t as they should be and they make our Mistress sad. When they went swimming, our Mistress opened the right hand door for him to go through and he walked into the left one. If it were just a mistake it would be quite funny, but there is a bit of a pattern developing. He panicked when they tried to make him swim in the other direction around the pool too. We only get to see it at home really. If he can’t be in the kitchen he whimpers. It’s his safe zone and the only place he really relaxes during the day. I hope I don’t get like that when I’m old.
Have a great weekend
