Sunday 9th August 2015 – Puppy News

Mum (Shadow) is doing fine. We’re hoping that today will mark her being two weeks pregnant, but obviously that could be an optimistic hope at this stage. The news I have relates to the new puppy we were hoping to have. You’ll have noticed I said ‘were’. The litter was born last week and there are six healthy puppies. That’s the most important thing, them being healthy. Anyway, there are three girls but they all have kinks in their tails and that is not allowed for breeding. It means our Mistress is back to square one looking for a suitable little girl to come to live with us. She is following up one possibility at the moment, but if that is not an option then it’s back to the drawing board. On the bright side, I’m hoping it postpones me having to grow up and behave responsibly, but Alfie says there is nothing keeps you as young as having a new puppy in the house. We could of course keep one of my brothers or sisters from Mum’s litter if all goes well, but our Mistress really wants to bring a new breeding line into the country so I think she will keep looking.

Alfie is enjoying his weekend away at our grandparents. He gets spoilt which he enjoys. I must say I’m pretty jealous, but last time I went and our Mistress had gone out I made a bit of a nuisance of myself by crying the whole time, so I guess I can understand why Alfie has gone instead of me.

Jake

A dog was found abandoned and wandering with a badly broken leg in our village the other day. It is thought he might have been used in something called ‘lamping’ which is a type of hunting and then left when he was injured. He is only young, about nine months old and will need a major operation to save his leg. He was rescued by some dear people in our village and taken to our vet. Now our lovely vet is trying to raise the money to send him for the specialist for the operation. If you would like to donate to save ‘Jake’s’ leg you can do it here. http://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/jakes-leg-repair/ Even if you can only give a small amount you could help to save the leg of this poor boy.
