Well we measured Shadow yesterday. We measured me too, but for different reasons! Anyway, with Shadow there are three possibilities. Firstly, my Mistress is useless at measuring dogs and got it wrong last time. (Please don’t rule that one out, we aren’t that great at standing still!). Secondly, Shadow is getting fat and needs to do more exercise (I wouldn’t rule that one out either, but don’t tell her I said that, she wouldn’t take it very well). Thirdly, she has gained a centimetre round her waist because something exciting is happening inside. If she were to be pregnant she would be no more than two and a half weeks gone, so it is a bit early to really expect any change. Our Mistress says it will be more meaningful over the next week and hopefully Shadow will get plenty of exercise in that time so it won’t be down to inactivity.
I was measured for an altogether different reason. I’m definitely not pregnant, but am going to have a coat. I know I’m a mountain dog and should be used to the cold and normally it doesn’t bother me, but when I come out of swimming and am still a bit wet and then go into the cold outside it comes as a big of a shock to my aging limbs. I found it interesting that I need the same size as a greyhound. Clearly it is recognition of my athletic physique.
Having been swimming, at least I got to sit in front of the fire while Ari and Shadow went for their walks. It made swimming seem worth it, not to have to go out in the cold.
You would not believe the number of enquiries our Mistress is getting at the moment for Entlebucher puppies. I think we must be becoming better known in this country. Just while we were swimming yesterday she had two email enquiries arrive. Obviously not everyone goes on to join the waiting list for one of us, not everyone is that patient, but it’s almost becoming a full time job just answering all the enquiries.
