The big news is that Shadow’s ultrasound scan is booked for January 30th in the morning. If you could keep your paws crossed, we’d be very grateful. She went for a herpes vaccination yesterday and didn’t squeal at all. She’s just showing up how cowardly we boys are. I can tell you now when I have my vaccinations on Friday I will not be as brave as that. I only have to see a needle to want to leave the vet’s consulting room. Mind you, we aren’t as bad as the pointer that was waiting with Shadow who was shaking from head to paw. Our Mistress felt quite sorry for the dog, but the owner said she sometimes does it at home too. It can’t be nice to be of a nervous disposition.
I know this isn’t a very good photo but the lighting wasn’t good and when I got the camera out Aristotle lost concentration. This is our new toy. He is having to earn his tea each day. He soon got the hang of having to press the button for it to release a few pieces of food. The problem was even after he’d eaten his whole meal he went to queue by his bowl in the utility expecting to be fed a second time. Now he has got the hang of the basics I think our Mistress is planning to make it a little more difficult by moving the buzzer further away from the dispenser. The idea is that eventually it will be in a completely different room and he’ll have to run to and fro to release his food and then go to eat it.
I had a lovely, if slightly different, walk yesterday. My Mistress got round to having her car battery replaced so that she doesn’t break down again anytime soon. I went with her and after we’d dropped the car we went to the airfield from a different direction. Going to a car garage reminded me of my puppyhood when we used to go everywhere together in Belgium. I ended up feeling quite nostalgic.
