Monday 5th January 2015 – A ‘Normal’ Day

It seems a very long time since we’ve had a normal day around here. Our Master will be going back to work and our Mistress will be slaving over a hot computer. We will be waiting patiently for the highlight of the day when we go for a walk. Shadow is fed up as she will be missing out for another few days but says she’s planning to make up for it when she does go out. Besides, she says just in case she is pregnant she needs to be super fit. She has to go to the vet today for a herpes injection in the hope that she is pregnant. It is to prevent any problem for the puppies from the herpes virus, just in case. I was feeling smug until my Mistress said I have to go to the vet on Friday for my annual vaccinations. I felt less smug when she told me that I will be going swimming two weeks running as my back end doesn’t seem quite so strong. I fell up the stairs a couple of times at the weekend and my pleading that I just tripped don’t seem to have got me anywhere.

With the money she had for Christmas my Mistress has ordered some headphones to wear when we walk so that she can listen to her audio books but have her hands free. I’m not sure how she’s going to wear them at the same time as the rather super sheepskin ear muffs she had. I did ask if you get the sheepskin ones in my size as they really do look rather comfortable, but short of borrowing hers I think that may have fallen on deaf ears.

We took all the Christmas decorations down yesterday. It was sad taking the Santa hat off the moose head in the hall. I said he could do with a different hat to replace it, but I don’t suppose she will take any notice. Of course he might like to try the ear muffs too.
