The snow tyres are on the car and my Mistress has even ordered a snow shovel. She still says she will be happy not to use them, but the point I found her toying with buying a sled I did think she may be protesting too much. She said the sled would have been for us. More to the point I think she had in mind us pulling her along in it when we went for a walk if it were to be snowy. Thankfully it is not often snowy enough round her as it could only end in tears! It’s felt very cold and been horribly windy but as yet there is no sign of snow here. There’s no sign of Shadow’s season either. My Mistress is wondering if she is going to get through Christmas before it begins and whether perhaps it is worth putting up a tree and buying in Christmas dinner. I said she should do those things as you can rest assured the minute she’s done them it will start. I shall rather feel cheated of my Christmas dinner if we are all here but she hasn’t bought anything exciting for us to eat.
I was watching a pigeon sitting on a branch which was rocking in the wind and couldn’t help but wonder if birds ever suffer from vertigo and motion sickness and how on earth they cope. I suppose they could sit on the ground, but then they are more of a target to prey. Now I’m worrying about them. Perhaps I should create a sheltered spot for them with firm perches out of reach of ground predators and Shadow.
I’ve developed a wart on the end of my nose recently. It’s really annoying me now because it’s just in my line of sight. It’s nothing to worry about, except that being an ‘old dog wort’ it reminds me I’m aging, but I do wish it would go away.
