My Mistress should have heeded the warnings. It seems if you start with red hair and you try dying it a different colour then anything can happen. Over the years, her hair has gone from bright red to a more subtle shade with sandy to white bits at the front and underneath. When you use Blue/Black dye on light hair it turns out that it can go a sort of lilac colour. Her hair is now a subdued red at the back with a lilacy grey fringe. I really don’t think that was the look she was aiming for. She will see the rest of the cast this evening and will judge by their reaction whether to give up. She can however say that she has at least dyed her hair a different colour once before she turns 50!
The other thing that has caused her much excitement is that she drank a glass of wine, well two glasses if we’re being strictly accurate, and it didn’t make her ill. She has not been able to do that for several years. She is so happy to be able to start reintroducing foods and was moving on to try wheat based pasta again for the first time in years. She says oven chips are next on her list followed by some different vegetables and then ham. The way she’s going she is going to be able to eat a normal diet before too long. Tragic as it may sound, her ultimate aim is not to get back to eating chocolate as you might expect, or pizza which has such a wonderful smell even to a dog. Nor is it to go out for a gourmet meal. No, she is longing to be able to eat a portion of Kentucky Fried Chicken! I worry about her sometimes.
