Well I did put a paw briefly on my native Belgian soil as we stopped at a service station on the way here, but I will have to wait a couple of days to really enjoy it. It was a funny journey – really heavy rain for most of it, then a couple of hours of sunshine before we arrived. Then by the time we had unpacked the car and had time to go out for a walk there was a very big downpour and we all got extremely wet. My Mistress has not brought many spare clothes so she is now hanging things all round the bedroom in the hope they will be dry to wear again tomorrow. She put her pyjama top, which is really a tee shirt on instead, but then had to go and get a towel from the car to dry me (I’d made a start on drying myself by wrapping my body round her dry trousers and leaving a big wet patch) anyway, her pyjama top got wet going to get the towel to dry me, which I thought was quite funny, but she was less impressed by.
Where we are staying is perfect for dogs. It’s a ground floor room with a French door that opens straight out into the woodland. Of course it makes the thunder storm a little more alarming but it does give us easy access.
Bella has to go to a clinic to have a health test for breeding today. I’m going to give her moral support, but have made it quite clear I am not prepared to go as far as having the test with her, not least because it meant she had to miss breakfast this morning and I never volunteer for that!
