We are at our first stopping point, in view of the QE2 Bridge at the Dartford Crossing. It’s not the most glamorous of locations. Ok it’s not at all glamorous, but the bed is comfortable and the room is clean. Strangely given it’s pretty much in the shadow of the bridge, it’s not that noisy either. If you disregard the coaches pipping their horns and the coach load of what seemed to be Polish workers that they were offloading. I’ve got me and my Mistress and I’m a happy dog wherever I am. I did have to go for a walk with Bella to say ‘hi’ before we all set off tomorrow, but that was no great problem really. I’m not really a sociable dog, but on a one to one basis I don’t mind too much. I just need to have my space respected and to be honest I do prefer girls to boys on the whole.
It was an odd journey. The traffic was really quite bad for the first half of the journey to my grandparents in the Midlands and so I thought it was all going to be like that. I got myself tied in a knot in my seat belt by turning round the wrong way and getting my leg stuck. We had to stop at a service station for my Mistress to untangle me. Then after we left the Midlands and the parts my Mistress thought would be busy we had a really easy journey and I just slept the whole way and didn’t bother doing any more turning round.
It’s an early start today so we had an early night last night. It suits both of us that way round. Actually that’s not quite true. I’m always happy for an early night but I’d rather not to have to get up early.
