Thursday 17th July 2014 – My Back

I’m afraid my back is still giving me trouble. My Mistress was lovely giving me first priority on walks when she was home. I tried, I really did. I knew how much she was looking forward to spending a little bit of time just the two of us so she could tell me all about the trip. I just couldn’t walk too far all that comfortably. I just hope it doesn’t influence her wanting to take me on her other trips this summer. She said not to worry we’d do some swimming and see if that helped. I have a worry that I’m going to hold her back. She is still on her get fit and thin campaign and I’m not really helping matters. Mind you, she did lose more weight while she was away but that is hardly surprising as she struggled to find things she could eat. You would think that it was her other allergies that would cause the biggest problem but it’s actually her allergy to pepper. Most of the restaurants there seemed to buy their meat in already seasoned. There were very few that could manage to bring her things without pepper. I know she is biased because of her allergy but she asked if humans didn’t want to find out what their food really tasted like. With the obsession you humans have with seasoning everything I think she has a point. Half the time it is seems to be done to cover the poor quality of the food or the cooking! It is a bit like the obsession with covering everything with either tomato or brown sauce. You humans think we dogs have a boring diet, but at the end of the day you go to great lengths to make all your food taste exactly the same.
