Tuesday 15th July 2014 – on route

Our Mistress and D’Artagnan were last heard of in New York and then catching a flight to the UK. They should be landing fairly soon and we are all very excited about seeing them. I’m only hoping they have remembered to bring me back a nice present. Of course it is them I want to see and the present is just a bonus, but it’s an important bonus so I wouldn’t like it to be overlooked. She’s going to need a suit of armour on when she sees us all as we’re not very good at containing our excitement when she hasn’t seen us for a while.

I didn’t tell you the odd thing that happened with our Mistress’s car hire. She was on her way from Concordia to Georgetown and passing Denver on route, when she got a call from the hire company saying they had sold the car so if she was in the area could she take it in and swap it. Sadly she was and did and the one she got instead wasn’t nearly so good, so she wasn’t very happy. It didn’t really have a big enough engine for the driving she did in the mountains so all the time when she wanted to overtake someone she found she didn’t have enough engine power to go anywhere. She says she was glad she hadn’t had that one for the long from Denver to Concordia and back as it would have been no fun at all.

Another thing I forgot to tell you was how excited she was at seeing chipmunks. She has always had a soft spot for them and loves seeing them in the wild. She’d quite like to see a bear from a distance too, but she didn’t see any of those. There was a hummingbird, which is the first she has ever seen not in a bird sanctuary.

I’m off to tidy up so things don’t look too bad when she gets here.
