I think it was Aristotle who put him up to it. There we were waiting to wave my Mistress off and what do we find? D’Artagnan has only gone in her luggage as a stowaway. He said he couldn’t bear the thought of our Mistress not having an Entlebucher for company for 10 days so as he was the smallest he thought it was his duty to go with her. On the bright side for the next week or so he can act as our roving reporter to bring you all the latest news of what is going on. He’s promised to be photographed in all the interesting places so I can show what’s going on. I’m jealous, but I wouldn’t have fitted in our Mistress’s hand luggage and would have utterly blown the weight restriction. It also meant he could go to visit his brother Donatello who now lives with our human maternal grandparents. Donatello has a lovely bed in the window of the dining room there so that he can watch the birds on the bird table and look down the garden. He’s happy and being well looked after so D’Artagnan was happy. I wasn’t around to see what our Master said when he found the note that D’Artagnan left to say what he had done. I think he was concerned that our Master would worry where he’d gone from his usual spot on the bed.
Yesterday D’Artagnan and our Mistress travelled as far as Heathrow and stayed in a nearby hotel where they can leave the car. I just hope they got up early enough this morning to check in for their flight. I’m hoping that having to look after D’Artagnan will help my Mistress to stay calm and now worry too much. I’ll find out later.
