Monday 23rd June 2014 – A quiet day

We were all tired yesterday after Saturday’s Fun Day, except Shadow of course who is just fed up about having to stay at home. She is alternating between being subdued when she is in the house and having to wear her pants and being like a spring lamb when she is out in the garden. She is also howling when left on her own, which she does not normally do. My Mistress realised late on Saturday that she had got quite burnt during the day. She thought she was in the shade quite a lot and that it was cloudy the rest of the time, but the blazing red patches of skin suggest otherwise. She wouldn’t mind as much if they were likely to go brown, but they are more likely to peel and leave her the usual pasty white colour.

There were lots of jobs lined up for yesterday, but the most energy she could muster was to take the accumulated detritus of our lives to the tip. When you get to the point where the hall is full of cardboard you know it’s time to get rid of it. However, as she buys so much on line, no sooner has it all gone than a new pile begins. Sadly our recycling doesn’t take brown cardboard so she has to take that to the tip herself…along with the glasses she has broken and other bits.

With everything else that has been going on, she has not had much time to help me with my next book recently. I’m really hoping when she comes back from her America trip that she might help me get that finished. I know she’s going to want to be writing her own book, but I think she should find time to help me too. It reminded me of the week she and I had years ago when she was writing her first novel and we went to spend a week in a log cabin so she could focus on it. I think she should do that again, just her and me working on our two books.
