Yesterday was great fun. There were not as many dogs as my Mistress hoped, but the ones who were there had a great time. It was mainly boy dogs as it turned out but we all got along really well. There was a hurt paw for Annie, resulting in it being bathed and bandaged and then a spat between Ari and a 3 month old puppy, resulting in the puppy getting a cut nose which needed bathing. The funny thing was that the puppy decided to challenge Aristotle for his chew, even though Ari is nearly three years old and the puppy is only three months old. To be fair the puppy was incredibly cute and we all rather liked him. I can see how he gets his own way. He’d lulled Ari into a false sense of security. When they met, the puppy rolled over on his back to let Ari know he was no threat to him, then the sneaky little thing tried to steal the chew. I have to say he has style. I won the ball and spoon race, but seem to have lost my touch in the biscuit race. We didn’t get to biscuit catch which is my pièce de résistance. My Mistress was threatening to start the races in German as she knows how to say the equivalent of ‘ready, steady, go’, but whilst we might be from the German speaking part of Switzerland we were all English speaking dogs, so there didn’t seem much point.
One of the nicest parts of the day was seeing Amigo. It was lovely to see him looking so well and happy and we all got on so much better than when the poor little fellow had to come back to be rehomed. He was as good as gold and seemed quite relaxed and happy. It’s always nice when stories have a happy ending. This is a photo of the two brothers, Ari and Amigo.
