Megan had her scan yesterday and it was bad news. She is not pregnant. My Mistress has to talk to the specialist in Switzerland this morning, but there is nothing more that can be done. Megan will just have to accept that she is not destined to have puppies. My Mistress felt very sad and wanted more than anything to be in Switzerland to give Megan a cuddle. She says she understands how Megan feels as she could not have children either. It is a major setback for our breed here in the UK. We seem to have had nothing but bad news recently. We really need some things to start to go our way for once. It means my Mistress can now look at what breeding lines need to be brought in but it all takes so much time.
The activity tracker my Mistress is using, to help her get fit, tells when she has been ‘very active’ as opposed to just ‘active. Walking Ari and me are generally active times, but often when she walks Shadow it is with my Master too and more of a gentle, although rather further, stroll. Yesterday’s was a little different to the norm. They started at a good pace and then settled into a slower pace until half way across a field they realised they were not alone. Now last time that happened in that particular field my Mistress was on her own walking both Shadow and Megan only to find a flock of sheep separating her from the gate and had some difficulty persuading both girls that they did not want to play with the sheep. Yesterday it was not sheep, it was a VERY large cow and her calf. The cow eyed them across the field. They walked along the edge and my Mistress spent the whole time planning possible escape routes to get them to safety if the need arose. Thankfully they were fine, but the activity tracker certainly showed that they picked up speed for that leg of the journey!
