When my Mistress walked down to the village, there was a hole. It has not been there the day before. It had just appeared in the middle of the road. The problem was there was no pavement so someone walking, especially in the dark, might not see it. The hole was about 25cms long and about the same deep, so if you had tripped down it, it would have been very easy to fall over or break a leg, or both. Anyway, when she got home my Mistress looked up how to report a hole in the road. It was on Sunday so not normal working hours. First of all she found the right council to deal with it, which did make her wonder why government at all levels doesn’t have integrated websites to make it easier for the public to find the right thing, but I digress. It isn’t our local council, it’s the County. So she found the right page and there was a web form to report potholes. However, when she started the form it came up saying if it were urgent she should ring. Except if it was a weekend, there would be nobody at the council so she should ring the local police. So she did. The funny thing was that the police had no idea why she was ringing them as they were unaware that they were listed as the contact for holes in the road at weekends. It may just have been the police lady she spoke to because when she checked yesterday the hole in the road was newly filled and all nice and safe again.
Today is a big day as Megan is having her scan. As soon as I know how she gets on I will let you know. I do know that my Mistress is very anxious. She can’t bear the thought of Megan not being pregnant again as there really would be nothing more that could be done. We’re crossing everything Megan – you would make a great mum and your puppies are likely to be really beautiful.
