Fair enough so while I was swimming I may have forgotten to close my mouth and ended up choking on some water, but that’s because I’ve not really got the hang of this swimming lark and I don’t like it. Before that though, when we were going to get into the car, I would have thought, as her favoured dog, that she would have got the car ready for me. She hadn’t. It was pouring with rain and I really do mean pouring, it’s done nothing else for the last few days here. She locked the back door and then went to the car. She opened the front door to put her things in before opening the back for me. How can she think that her handbag, phone and shopping list are more important than her beloved dog? She then told me to wait while she put the blanket back on the seat for me. Really? Wait in the pouring rain. I just jumped straight into the front of the car behind the wheel. Then when my seat was ready she told me to get out and go round to it. It was still pouring. Do I really look stupid? I made half an attempt to move over the front passenger seat, conceding that it is generally safer if she drives, but her handbag was there. I’d only sat on the shopping list and her phone. Then I had a better idea and climbed into the back between the seats. If I hadn’t made her seat wet and muddy and got mud on her phone and soaked the shopping list with muddy water, I’m sure we would all have been happy. I did at least stay rather drier than she had in mind for that stage of the operation. I think I might have pushed my luck a little too far when she got in the car and I said ‘You look a little wet’. It’s fair to say I was scowled at.
