I can’t believe how quickly the time is going. It will not be long before the puppies start to head off for their new homes. We still have the impossible days in which they start to pin my Mistress down when she goes into the pen to enjoy, but that is just preparation for her being able to let go.
We have concluded with the vet that the stop go of Shadow’s milk was a type of mastitis as the antibiotics sorted it out. Although now her milk is drying up anyway, but that is not so much of a problem now. It just means that whereas normally we have to restrict Shadow going into the puppies in order to wean them, the process is happening of its own accord.
This morning it was my Mistress who woke the puppies. No, that ‘s not fair. It was me who woke my Mistress saying I needed to go out, which in turn woke the puppies. It was nearly seven – in a just gone half past six sort of way.
I have had to give up on any thought of having my bed to myself. Shadow has now taken to making herself comfortable next to me every night and I know better than to argue. I can only hope that my Mistress goes and buys her a comfortable bed of her own and that Shadow will then sleep in it. I’d even accept the size down to have as my bed so no one could get in with me.
I love this picture of Cuddles. It may be slightly out of focus but it would make a great caption competition photo. What do you think Cuddles is saying or thinking in this one?
