Today another epic journey begins. The intrepid explorers have set off following the well-worn track already laid down. Shadow is fed up because she’s missed the first part of the book they are listening to on the way there, because my Mistress started it while walking with Megan yesterday. In her defence my Mistress said that she was feeling a bit emotional and needed it to take her mind of the fact she was going to miss her walks with Meg. They have filled Shadow in on the detail, but then she decided it wasn’t her sort of book and she wanted a soft romance or something appropriate to her current position. Today they will drive the first 400 miles and stay at a hotel just off the motorway in France. It’s a funny place, or so my Mistress says, but it works well with Megan as the rooms are straight off the car park so she doesn’t have to walk through the reception area of the hotel. She’s got a thing about hotel receptions and usually barks quite a lot, which can be a bit off-putting.
Thank for the kind comments reminding me to be cheerful and I will see them again in a week. I know, but it’s not always easy to think like that. I’ve asked if she can find time to go to the pet shop over in Switzerland and bring me a new Swiss flag collar as my birthday present as it’s only a couple of weeks away.
What I should say is that we are all hoping for an uneventful trip this year. One in which everything goes to plan and there are no unexpected extra trips to make. It will be a first for the trips to mate Shadow if it is. Paws crossed.
