When there was just me, Shadow and Megan there were nose marks on the windows which needed cleaning off, but they were at normal dog height. Most of the nose marks were Shadow’s as she was the one who chased the flies. Everything has changed. Ari is now the fly catcher. Whereas before the flies would buzz up to the top set of windows and laugh down at Shadow saying ‘You can’t catch me’, on the whole those flies are now well and truly dead and in their place is a set of nose marks half way up the top set of windows. They were reckoning without Aristotle. Because he has a weak front leg, Aristotle learnt to compensate by having very strong back legs which he is quite capable of walking on. He simply stands up on his hind legs on tip toe and stretches his very long body high up the window and simply eats them. On the one paw, he’s doing a very fine job of catching flies but on the other paw we can’t see out of the windows nearly so well anymore!
Thankfully, my Mistress’s shoulder is much better which means she is off the tablets and a little more awake today. Of course we miss curling up for a nice afternoon nap with her, but she’s in a better mood so there are some benefits.
My Mistress is hoping to go to see Megan next week. She doesn’t want to unsettle her but she really wants to see how she is and give her a hug. Aristotle has asked if he can go to as he misses his playmate. As you can understand I wasn’t rushing to volunteer to visit her and Shadow isn’t allowed to as it would defeat the whole object of her being away.
