Wednesday 5th June 2013 – May Cause Drowsiness

My Mistress woke up yesterday with a pain in her shoulder and unfortunately before long could hardly move. She struggled into the car and drove to the doctor’s where the lovely lady said she had pulled a ligament and surrounding muscles had gone into spasm. Anyway, she gave her some tablets which say ‘may cause drowsiness’ not to be taken until she didn’t have to drive anywhere. We spend a lovely afternoon all curled up asleep together. It’s amazing how many dogs can lie on one human when they really try, although my Mistress did say that may have been the cause of pulling the ligament in the first place. She laughed at how much it had brought her down to earth after the previous day. Fortunately the doctor said she should only need to take the tablets for a day or so for them to do their work so I’m guessing we won’t get another afternoon on the settee, but I can hope.

It’s still not very hot, and the night-times are still quite cold but at least we’ve had a few days of sunshine to cheer things up. The garden is growing rather too fast in places, but that’s mainly the weeds. The vegetables are actually looking very healthy, much to mine and everyone else’s surprise. The rate they are going I wouldn’t be at all surprised if we end up with something edible. You have to look at it like this when you are a dog, the best conclusion is for them to be not quite attractive enough to the humans and then we get to eat them. If they turn out too well, we won’t get so much. It’s a question of balance. I’m just hoping the balance goes in my favour – although that is not a view shared by my Mistress!
