Monday 3rd June 2013 – the mystery of the swarming bees

swarming insects 008 smallThe bees were back again yesterday and my Mistress managed to get some photos. She did research on what to do was and was all set to call in a ‘bee collector’. Fortunately, as it turned out, she went to speak to our neighbour first, as the bees seemed be staying on his side of the fence, and in doing so she found out that they belonged to my neighbour’s son. Please don’t misunderstand, they weren’t supposed to be at our neighbour’s, they were supposed to be in their hives further down the hill in the village, but they’d made a bid for freedom and had clearly decided to visit their ‘grandparents’. Anyway, five minutes later the beekeeper arrived in search of his errant bees. The only problem is that they may have moved location. Apparently last year they chased them round the village for a week before they were reunited with their hive.

Aristotle was feeling a lot better. Not completely himself but well enough to go out as he had planned and have a lovely time. He was worn out when he came home though and still doesn’t want to stray too far from my Mistress. To be fair, why would he? She’s spoiling him rotten, but then he did give us all a bit of a scare.

Today we will all be listening to Radio York http://www.bbc.co.uk/radioyork this afternoon from 2pm, when my Mistress is being interviewed. She is very nervous about it, but I’m sure she will be fine. It’s not like when she did the tv interview last year and had a camera in her face while they were filming and a microphone dangling above her head. I’m just hoping she remembers to tell everyone that she owes it all to me her faithful dog.
