Time has been redefined. My mistress is no longer recording things as morning, afternoon and evening, but instead has broken the day into blocks of six hourly chunks. There are the dark hours or the three hours ‘before tablets’ as they are known, then there are the slightly more cheerful hours which are the ‘after painkiller’ times. She says this is the most she has ever hurt in her life and is looking forward to things improving. I too am looking forward to the pain reducing so that I can get a decent night’s sleep, when she gets up, I get up. I am not used to spending half the night with her in the office and am sincerely hoping that she starts sleeping for more than two hours at a time fairly soon.
On a brighter note Megan rang yesterday to say that she thinks she is nearly ready to go to see the stud dog. My Mistress is really pleased as it sounds as though her season is a more normal one than she has had for 18 months. Based on that, my Mistress thinks that there is a very real possibility Megan will become pregnant this time. That would mean we would have another litter of puppies in the house around the end of April. Before that not only does my Mistress have to collect Megan from Switzerland, but she also needs to collect Amigo from Ireland. I think the next few weeks are going to be very busy. Her first problem is getting to Crufts with Aristotle for Thursday this week. I just hope by then that her hand has stopped hurting as much as it is now. This would be a good time for Aristotle to show how much he has grown up and behave really well.
