When I say ‘Back in Belgium’, my humans are but I’m not and they are having a great time. I’m still at home twiddling my paws until they return. They did go to Waterloo and said it was funny that from all the books in the bookshop you’d think the French had won. I found it funnier that from walking all the way up the 226 steps to the monument and down again the muscles in my Mistress’s legs didn’t stop quivering for the rest of the day. She needs to get fit, that’s all there is to it. Given it was minus four, they didn’t stay up there for long. By the time I spoke to them they were staying with our old next door neighbours and their new dog. My Mistress said it was good to be back around dogs and she really doesn’t like not having a dog around, which is a good thing as there are four of us to be around. Bailey, the dog, stole one of my Mistress’s socks and wouldn’t give it back. It was retrieved eventually but by that time was so covered in dog slobber that my Mistress didn’t fancy wearing it again.
In the best spirit of being in Belgium the key holiday activities are going to the place they used to buy beer to buy a couple of crates of my Master’s favourite beers and the supermarket to buy the foods they now miss in England. I just hope there’s some dog biscuits thrown in there. I think my Mistress is hoping to have time to go to my favourite store to look for a gift to bring home for me. I just hope she has time. If I’m really lucky maybe she’ll manage to buy one of the metre long dog chews I used to have.
