I was thinking back over the time I’ve lived with my Mistress, which, of course, is most of my life, and it’s incredible how things don’t seem to stay the same from one minute to the next. In those early days there was just me and my Master and Mistress and we lived in Belgium. I look back on that as one of the most stable times as it was like that for two years. Then we came to England and there was James living with us and a different house to get used to. It was like that for a year. Then Shadow came to join us and it stay like that for a year. Then we moved house. Then a few months later Megan moved in. I guess we were settled for a year then. Then Ari and his brothers and sisters were born. Two months later his brothers and sisters moved out. Two months later Andy moved in. Six months later James moved out. Five months later the puppies were born. Then Andy moved out. Then the puppies moved out and here we are. Just my Master and Mistress and the four of us dogs. I yearn for the peace and stability of those early days. These days I don’t know from one minute to the next who the members of my pack are. The next thing to happen will be Megan moving out for a few weeks and hopefully when she comes back there will be puppies again. It’s a wonder that my Mistress can keep up with who’s who. I think she just keeps her head down and says hello to whoever happens to be in the house on any given day. I wonder what will happen next.
