Most importantly, a very happy new year to you all.

As my Mistress has felt so under the weather, Megan hadn’t had a walk for a couple of days. Megan does not like not going for a walk! I’ve told you about her eating the torch, well yesterday she ate a toy and not one of her own! It wasn’t a cheap toy either. Anyway, my Mistress concluded she had no one to blame but herself and that whether she felt well enough or not Megan had to be walked. Then she has a thought. The weather was too bad to go to the field and play ball, not unless they were both wearing snorkel and flippers, so given she had to be on the lead and go round the roads how was my Mistress going to make sure she came back more tired than my Mistress did? Then she had a thought, if Megan were to wear her rucksack and carry an equal load on either side then it would be much harder work for her. The load turned out to be the first thing that came to hand, which was bags of Jam Making Sugar, two one kilo bags to be precise. Of course that idea would have been better if either a) it hadn’t been raining or b) she had put the paper bagged sugar in something waterproof. It was only half way round the walk that my Mistress remembered she actually had some 1kg and 2kg hand weights for exercising, which would have been ideal. She rescued most of the sugar when she got back, the bags had split but not so badly that they couldn’t  be lifted out and put into plastic ones to save the sugar. I think she ought to get on and use them to make marmalade sooner rather than later!

The puppies really rioted at 3pm yesterday. They aren’t getting the hang of that not being mealtime. They were very noisy, but as there were other things going on in the house we couldn’t record them unfortunately. They all fell asleep worn out by about 3.30 and peace resumed.
