My Mistress upset herself when she realised the puppies only have another three weeks with us. She has grown very fond of all of them. Much to Aristotle’s annoyance she said they are a much more mellow happy litter than last year’s. To be fair most of them were fairly laid back last year. I think five is much easier than seven too so it seems less manic. Apart from that their poos have been easier to clean up and I can’t tell you just how much difference that makes. She has been having extra cuddles with both Beija and Britannia. The boys are either too busy playing or are sound asleep. In Basil’s case he’s often redesigning the pen. However the girls come straight to the gate and ask to be picked up and it would be rude not to. She is making all the arrangements for them going to their new homes so I know there is little risk of her saying she wants them to stay. They have a lot to face first. Their first excitement is another round of worming on Boxing Day! After that they have their microchips being fitted the following week. That bit is never fun.
On the bright side, my Mistress is starting to put together their puppy packs. Their pedigree certificates arrived from The Kennel Club today, which was exciting.
Having demanded an extra meal last night, the puppies haven’t eaten so much during the day today. My Mistress is hoping that isn’t indicative of more puppy riots tonight.
In the meantime Shadow is most certainly feeling better. She has been playing rough and tumble with Aristotle today. I’ve been keeping a low profile before they expect me to join in.
