Friday Midday – Oh Puppies!

The puppies are all following Basil’s lead and enjoying rearranging their environment. The bedding was dragged to the other side, the newspaper was on top of the bedding. I think most of it was done during the food riots at 3am last night. When five little puppies start shouting in the middle of the night you have little chance of ignoring them. They set up a chant of ‘What do we want?’ ‘Feeding’ ‘When do we want it?’ ‘Now’ and simply kept repeating it until my Mistress dragged herself out of bed. So much for hoping that sleeping through the night would not be a one off! My Mistress really wants to be in her own bed for Christmas, but I think the puppies have ideas of keeping her all to themselves. She was feeling so much brighter yesterday morning having had a whole night’s sleep. Today she’s not looking so good!

The eating was in a good cause and the puppies have all put on a good amount of weight. The smallest weight gain was Britannia with 80g, taking her up to 2920g. Basil has nearly caught her up. He added an incredible 220g to reach 2890g. All that misbehaving has clearly been good for him. My Mistress is taking advantage of his need to sleep this morning by putting him in the pen with the presents from his new mistress. He’s absolutely out of it as I write this. Beija did some catching up too. She added 150g to reach 2690g. Dickens and Tucker are streaking ahead. Tucker gained 180g to reach 3070g and Dickens added 180g to reach 3090g. It’s amazing to think they are already passing the 3kg milestone.

  1. Actually, I saw them do it, early this morning just before breakfast!
It was totally amazing, just two weeks ago they could barely walk and now they were chasing each other ànd the newspaper all over the place, and then one of them set his/her teeth in the bedding and dragged it in one smooth move over to the other side!
