Sunday 20th June 2010

My poor Mistress is still ill and we are doing our best to cheer her up. She has got to the point of being totally fed up with being housebound and not really fit for doing anything. She hasn’t even been up to doing any gardening and is now getting frustrated because there are things that need doing. She is very grateful for the internet and for Amazon in particular. She sent for a couple of films and we spent part of yesterday snuggled up together watching them.  She said after watching England’s miserable performance in the football she’d rather watch something that was actually supposed to make her cry!

I’m just hoping she is better by tomorrow when she has to drive me to the vet to have my stitches out. I didn’t mind going in the car with her the other day until the point she said she wasn’t safe to drive. That rather spoilt it for me. I’m not sure whether she can really turn her head each way yet, but I’m guessing she must be in a slightly better state than she was so I’m hoping that it is safe to get in the car. I’d offer to walk, but I don’t think she’s really up to that. I suppose I could see her there but I don’t think she’d let me go on my own.

I can’t believe it’s already nearly midsummer’s day. The worst thought is that later this week the days will start to get shorter again. I’ve only just started to appreciate just how long they are. I’d like them to stay this way for a while. I rather like it being light when we go out last thing at night. I don’t feel as rushed. My Mistress is happy to sit on one of the garden chairs and wait for us, unless it’s raining and then to be honest I’ve gone in before she has.
