Oh it’s all very well that my Mistress doesn’t really feel like putting up the Christmas decorations, but what about the rest of us? Who’s going to put them up is she doesn’t do it? She says she just isn’t in the mood for Christmas this year and while I think I can see where she’s coming from, I think we’re entitled to a little bit of festivity. She pointed out that she has been to precisely no Christmas parties and that the thought of having her work Christmas party on her own is hardly appealing. I sat and drummed my paw on the carpet as she was saying all that, before pointing out I do work with her as well and that she was effectively doing my out of my Christmas lunch by behaving like that. She has gone as far as ordering a turkey, which all things considered is a big step in the right direction, especially when you realise she has ordered one that is far bigger than we really need. At least I know there are going to be plenty of extras.

Anyway, in the end I said she should just bite the bullet (or the mince pie) and get on with it all. That resulted in shopping for a tree, playing Christmas music and putting up some decorations to brighten the place up. Yet again the dog wins. Of course, that is the way it should be. If I couldn’t twist her round my little claw then nothing would be right with the world. I am after all her big brown eyed, faithful companion and she would do anything for me. Now all I have to do is to get her to sort out our Christmas party and we’ll be away.
