Have you ever tried to find a nice quiet spot to go to the toilet with a nine week old puppy trying to cling to your neck? Well I can tell you it is very offputting! She just won’t leave me alone. Oh I know I want to be famous and I should get used to the adulation but surely even the paparazzi can’t be this annoying. Both my Master and Mistress have told me that I would be quite within my rights to give her a little nip and put her in her place, but I’m just not that sort of dog. If someone comes up to me and says ‘Alfie I want that bed,’ I’m not the sort of dog to argue that I was here first or for that matter that it is my bed and I should be allowed to rest there undisturbed. I just get up and wander to find somewhere else. It doesn’t do any good though, she just follows me.

I’m finding so many ways in which we are different. I have never liked the rain and won’t lie on wet grass for anyone. Shadow on the other hand is completely unphased by the weather and thinks nothing of rolling around in the wet. I bet she’s going to be one of these dogs that still wants to go for a walk on a rainy day. As long as she doesn’t expect me to go with her I don’t mind. At least my Mistress has a cagoule that she can wear to stay dry.

My Mistress has bought some new stretch jeans. Now stretch material has the advantage of shaping itself to all the little bulges and being very comfortable. It also seems to have the disadvantage of working its way down as she’s walking. Thank goodness for the invention of the belt.
