These long warm sunny evenings are not without their advantages. I may have to sit outside but I’m starting to consider myself a regular at our local pub. My Mistress takes me for a walk in the evening when it has cooled down a bit and we sort of carry on round the village to the pub. I’ve been two days running and I must admit I’m quite enjoying watching what everyone in the village is up to. I seem to meet the same people each time, which means I am making some new friends. I went to check on the ducklings on the way down there, just to make sure they were ok and they didn’t need anything. They were having a little swim so I decided not to join them.
While we were out at the weekend we saw a horsebox with two horses in it, being pulled behind a big four wheel drive. I think the driver may have forgotten what it would be like for them in the back. He cornered quite sharply and the horses had to lean to one side in quite an alarming fashion. I suggested to my Mistress that if they could counter-balance as well as that they might like to try motorcycling.
It’s my training class tonight. I can’t wait. You never thought you’d hear me say that. There wasn’t one last week being a bank holiday so I haven’t had a really good bark for two weeks. I wonder if I will manage to get any closer to the Golden Retriever that has rather fascinated me so far. I can’t help myself if I have to walk round in a circle with the Retriever in view. I just pull on my lead for all I’m worth. If we circle the other way I’m fine. It’s a sort of Jekyll and Hyde thing.
