My Mistress is now reunited with Shadow in Switzerland. Shadow has been saying that she has had a lovely holiday and even had chance to go walking in the Swiss Alps. In turn my Mistress has been telling Shadow how worried we’ve all been and all the things we’ve been doing to bring about a speedy return to her home. The funniest thing is that Shadow has become good friends with Megan’s father. She says she’d like to see him again sometime, which is rather worrying when she is only just likely to be pregnant with Rino’s puppies and what he would have to say about it I really don’t know. I don’t think my Mistress would look for Shadow to have puppies with Kuno, Megan’s dad, in the future, because they would be too closely related to any puppies that Megan goes on to have. It’s all very complicated this genetic stuff. As dogs we don’t generally think about all that. It’s just the times like when you are introduced to a dog that only has one grandmother and you think it’s a bit strange, but that’s as far as it goes. For the most part we don’t even meet our grandparents so it isn’t as though we are really being deprived of anything useful. Perhaps if grandparents gave us pocket money when we were puppies to would become more meaningful to us.
Anyway, Shadow has to visit the vet again this afternoon to make sure she has all her paperwork and has had more tick and worming treatment ready to travel home. The vet in Switzerland has been wonderful. We’d like to come up with a way of thanking him for everything he has done, but it is hard to have a really good idea. I suggested we could send him a picture of all the puppies when they are born. I think he might like that.
