Sunday 20th March 2016 – The Horrible death of Horsie

IMG_3039

Wilma is beside herself. Horsie is dead. To be fair she was partly responsible and I think that may be why she is feeling so bad. She and Alfie got carried away and played tug with Horsie and his nose was ripped from his body. How many times has out Mistress told them not to play tug with Horsie and it would all end in tears? Now it has, and it was our Mistress who was in tears. She had found it so sweet that Wilma would always get Horsie out first and sleep cuddled up to him. She has promised to try to do a repair job, but he’s never going to be the same and, let’s be honest, he’s not going to look much like a horse anymore. Alfie and I have offered to put our pocket money together and buy her a new one, Wilma that is, not our Mistress. We’ll see how his surgery goes first and whether he comes round from the anaesthetic, or ends up at the big toy graveyard in the sky.

Today is our Fun Day. It’s not going to be quite so much fun for me as I’m not going. ‘You stay home and look after Alfie please, Ari.’ Yeah, yeah, I know. It’s not as though it’s going to be much fun here. Alfie doesn’t like having me around. Oh so the girls behave better and are easier to get to be quiet when needs me, but I can be good, really I can. It’s not actually because I’m not good that I don’t get to go. It’s my poorly elbows. I hate not being able to take part in everything, but if I do I come home limping which is no fun. I might have wanted to eat a man I didn’t like one time, but that’s water under the bridge at least as far as I’m concerned. Anyway, I’m sure Wilma will tell you all about it tomorrow.

  1. Tell Wilma not to worry…we have many treasures without limbs and faces but the boys loved them anyway. My sewing was hardly of plastic surgeon standard but they didn’t seem to mind…..what they objected to the most was when I washed their much-cuddled treasures xx?

    • Horsie has had surgery and I love it just as much as ever. I can forgive physical imperfection as long as he still smells the same. He hasn’t been through the washing machine, but that’s partly because it broke a week ago and is waiting to be sorted out, so nothing has been washed.
      love Wilma
