What is better than apples? – Monday 12th December 2022

What is better than apples?

Well, what is better than apples? Answer – snow and apples. It was so funny – to me anyway. Mum had cleared up all the apples on the ground and moved them to the front garden so the birds could eat them but I couldn’t. Then the minute she turned her back, several more apples fell off the tree. That was good in itself, but yesterday we woke up to snow. It meant I could have two of my favourite things in the same place. Ari isn’t enjoying the cold, but it suits me perfectly. Unfortunately where we live the roads were not clear and as Mum doesn’t have any winter tyres on the car at the moment, she decided that our trip out would be postponed again. What did I care? I had snow and apples.

Dad’s Home

The day was fairly normal until late afternoon. Oh did Ari and I get excited? Dad is home and is here until after Christmas. How we bounced. Ok, I bounced, Ari barked and fell over. We took him round the garden to see all the Christmas lights. Then we helped Mum with trying to find homes for all the things Dad had brought home with him. I’d forgotten I’d even got a lifejacket. Ari says he only really used his when they all had a holiday on a boat. I think I’d quite like that idea.

Christmas 2020

We’re nearly up to date with looking at Christmas pasts, although I will go back to the early years before I cover this year. Christmas 2020 was an odd one. That was the first one of the pandemic when no one could go anywhere or do anything. It didn’t matter so much to us, but it was our first one without Alfie which was strange too.
