Self service
The birds are taking a self service approach to their food. It’s probably a mistake, but Mum keeps the bird food in the greenhouse so that it’s handy when she needs to put it out. Some of it is in plastic tubs and some of it isn’t. It’s the ‘isn’t’ that has become the problem. Someone, and of course it might have been the squirrel, had been into the greenhouse and torn a hole in the bag of dried meal worms. Ari goes to open the greenhouse door in a morning so that it doesn’t get too hot and that has made it easy for one or other of the wildlife to sneak in to get some food.
We think it’s a protest as Mum hasn’t been putting their food out regularly. To be fair, we’d do the same thing with our own food if the need arose – or if we thought we could get away with it.
Counting down
We think we’re counting down to Dad coming home on Friday, but he’s still ill so we just don’t know at the moment. I’m worrying about him and wish I was there to look after him. Mind you, I’ve got my paws full trying to look after Mum, although Ari was helping yesterday. Mum has asked if we could do more of looking after Shadow, but she gets crotchety with us when we try to make her do things she doesn’t want to do, so it’s no fun. At least when we show concern for Mum she thanks us for being such good dogs. Shadow just snaps at us.
Mind you, Shadow will be the first in the queue to welcome Dad and she’ll be all sweetness and light to him. She saves her grumpy side for us.
Love
