When life gives you lemons
When life gives you lemons take a photograph quickly before you kill them. You should have seen Mum potting up our new lemon trees. Honestly, she talked to them more lovingly than she does us. Fair enough, she’s always wanted a lemon tree but a girl can feel displaced, even by an inanimate object. I took a photograph of the fruit as it may be the only time the trees have any. Yes, they’ve been fed today but will Mum remember to feed them weekly through the summer? I doubt it. If it’s anything like me, if they do get fed it will be diet food.
Aristotle’s greenhouse
Aristotle is still getting excited about his greenhouse. He is nagging Mum to help him plant some more seeds as he hasn’t run out of space yet. He is very excited about the spaghetti squash, which is already well on the way to taking over. However, yesterday he was beside himself with excitement when he found his sunflower seeds are coming through. Of his herbs the borage is doing best, which would be far more use if any of us had any idea what you can do with borage – other than grow it.
Emails
My today’s emails ‘Dear Wilma…’ have included; a sports drink – I’m sorry but I prefer water; a place using seasonal ingredients – WHICH DOES NOT ALLOW DOGS; and an email with attachments so big that it stopped everyone’s emails coming through. Life was so much easier when it was only me and you guys and the rest of the world didn’t know we existed. If this carries on I shall need to invest in some sunglasses and a large brimmed hat so I’m not recognised when I go out for a walk. Mind you, that did happen to Alfie and Shadow years ago when they were walking. Maybe he was just better at handling it than I am.
Love
Wilma
