Annoying Dog – Wednesday 10th October 2018

Wilma and me wondering if we are missing something

Annoying dog

Aristotle really is a very annoying dog. Normally these days it’s me and Shadow who go swimming. Yesterday because his leg is not so good Ari came with me instead of Shadow. He’s going to be coming with me for the next couple of weeks too, so our Mistress says I have to get used to it. Firstly, our Mistress had the bright idea I might want to travel in the crate next to him in the boot. Ok, now to be fair it was because I said I was struggling to get onto the car seat. However, that part did not go to plan. The sight of him grinning at me from his side of the crate as I tried to make my way up the ramp was very off-putting. It’s not what a chap needs.

Bambi

I did a Bambi impression, or so our Mistress said. My back legs just didn’t go up the ramp after my front ones. They sort of flopped in different directions leaving me in a very uncomfortable position straddling the ramp. I’d just like to say that the rough surface that is supposed to help give grip to your paws is very unpleasant when it suddenly meets your undercarriage as you slide down. When I did get into the crate, our Mistress thought all would be well as it is wider than our old one. She reckoned without me simply freezing where I was standing. She took pity on me and said I could come back out and go on the seat as usual. Well, that was all well and good but I couldn’t actually get out. She kept telling me there was plenty of room, but I just panicked.

Plan B

Then she tried the ramp for me to get into the car. Ha! I knew what that ramp was like and I wasn’t having any of that a second time. I did end up sort of flinging my front end into the car and then my Mistress had to manoeuvre my back end to join me. It was all very undignified and definitely needs a rethink. I know a lot of the problem is in my head but it doesn’t make it any less real.

Have a good Wednesday
