Responsibility – Sunday 12th August 2018

Responsibility

We passed responsibility for our Mistress over to Salvo and Izzy yesterday. For one week of the year our Mistress goes away without the support and assistance of any of us. It’s a worrying time for the four of us, sending her off on her own. To be honest she’s pretty lost without a dog for company and for the leadership we provide for her. She’s only away until

Friday but we worry in the meantime. Anyway, for the first part we wave her off and then let Salvo and Izzy know she’s on the way. They live near where she goes for her conference so they check she’s ok up to the last minute when she has to be without us. Anyway, Izzy took her duties very seriously and immediately gave our Mistress a big cuddle. Salvo went to fetch the ball so she could play too, which was equally thoughtful. Then they sent her on her way and let us know she’s ok so far.

Emotional

Wilma was a bit emotional about our Mistress going away. She is not very used to being apart from her and feels it more than the rest of us. Wilma started yesterday by insisting on getting into bed with our Mistress for a big cuddle and asked if it was ok for her to ring every day. Of course it is. Our Mistress misses us just as much as we miss her. What was lovely was hearing last night that lots of the people who our Mistress is with asked after us all and sent their love especially to Shadow after her illness. It’s nice that even though we can’t be there they are thinking of us too.

Alfie

Alfie is still not feeling himself. He says he’s be very glad when our Mistress is home again as he’d really like the comfort of her being around. It’s hard for him, but I’ve promised to try not to be too annoying in the meantime.

Have a great Sunday

  1. Hi Ari, good to hear from you. Thanks for the latest news. It is my Dad`s birthday today. It is a “big one”, whatever that means. It sounds better than a small one so I will see what difference it makes to the day and may request one when my turn comes around. All the family are coming this morning and then they are off to the Pub. He does not know that yet. We have been sworn to secrecy. It is hard as I want to tell him. I have nearly let the cat — oops sorry, should have said secret, out of the bag several times. Must go and get ready to bark loudly at the door when everyone comes. Have a good day. Love Dickens X

    • A very happy special birthday to your Master, Dickens. Please give him all our best wishes, licks and woofs.
      Have a great time bro
