Whose bed is this? – Tuesday 24th July 2018

Whose bed is this?

Whose bed is this? Ok, so technically the answer is our Mistress’s but Wilma wasn’t leaving a great deal of room for either of us. There is nothing like getting comfortable to go to sleep, but when one dog can take up the whole of a king-sized bed on her own, things are getting a little bit out of paw. I didn’t even bother trying. I just went away to my own bed and shrugged my shoulders when our Mistress asked how exactly she was supposed to get in. To be fair, Wilma did move over when asked, so all was not lost.

Blood test

I went for my quarterly blood test yesterday. The vet was great. She asked how I’d been and if there was anything I was concerned about. She gave my old ticker a bit of a listen and said it was doing fine. I’ve got a wart under my eye, but she says that it shouldn’t cause me a problem and the only option for getting rid of it would involve an anaesthetic so I said I’d just have to forgo my good looks and put up with it. It turns out the vet isn’t coping any better with the hot weather than we are, so she couldn’t give me any useful tips.

Flies on Steroids

To be honest it’s not just the flies, all the insects round here seem to be on steroids. We’ve seen bigger flies and insects than we can ever remember seeing before. Our Mistress says we could do with a really cold winter to cut the increasing insect numbers, but I’m guessing there’d be downsides if that did happen. I’d just like them to be a little less big and a lot less buzzy than they seem to be.

Have a good day
