Glorious Mud

A break from chasing in the glorious mud – Bernie keeping away from Ari and Wilma

Well you should have seen the pair of them yesterday when they came back from romping in the glorious mud on their playdate. Actually to be fair, our Mistress was pretty much covered in it too, but that was because Wilma and Ari had been so insistent on sharing. Our Mistress felt a bit sorry for Bernie, Ari’s half-brother, as he was quite a bit smaller than Ari and Ari and Wilma rather ganged up on him at one point. That’s brothers for you… Actually in my case it was my sister, but you can’t have everything.

They were both made to have a shower on their return. I think our Mistress’s words to Wilma were ‘What is your mother going to think if she sees you looking like that?’ Wilma just grinned. She seems to think her mother would probably expect it of her.

Sunny Spot

I’ve asked Wilma to save a sunny spot in the new house for my bed, just in case our Mistress let’s me go out there to stay. I don’t want to find the others have chosen where they want their beds and I just get what’s left. Wilma will look out for me as she always does. I want a spot with a view and lots of sunshine. If it’s somewhere I can see the cows in the neighbouring field from, then that would be a bonus.

The Challenges of Living Abroad

It has all made me spend some time with our Mistress reminiscing about my early years when we lived in Belgium. “Do you remember how hard you found it to work out which rubbish to put in what bin?” I said to our Mistress. She just groaned and said she suspected that a similar challenge lay ahead. By the time I’d reminded her of the time the Town Hall said she couldn’t stay and the complications of taking her car to be tested as being roadworthy I think I might have quite upset her. Well it will be Wilma helping her with those things this time rather than me. She’s a good girl, when she’s not rolling in mud so hopefully all will be well.
