As a breed we get very attached to our humans. To be fair we all found a human who gets very attached to her dogs. We’re missing her and she’s missing us. She will be home again tomorrow and you just know that we’re going to jump all over her when we see her. One week away is barely long enough for the bruises we leave to subside and now we get to do it all again. Of the four of us, I have to confess that the girls are much more balanced doganalities than we are. Aristotle and I rather pine for our Mistress. Shadow is quite happy having our Master for company and isn’t so bothered. She and our Mistress have a grudging respect for each other rather than a close bond. Wilma is simply a much more balanced dog who likes everyone and everything. Whilst of course she loves our Mistress more than anyone else in the whole world, she is rather more self assured and doesn’t fret when they can’t be together. Unlike me! My Mistress is my whole world. Without her I lose weight and worry. I fear she won’t come back and get very clingy when she does. I know she’s never let me down, but it’s not my logical brain that kicks in when I don’t know where she is. The good news is that she’ll be back and I will know where she is and for a while I won’t want to let her out of my sight – which apparently can get quite annoying, but she doesn’t get too cross. She has learnt that the first thing I will need is half an hour to cuddle her and be cuddled and that will make me feel a whole lot better.
