Monday 19th December 2016 – Santa’s stunt double

Yesterday Dad got to be Santa’s stunt double. I don’t have any photos of it yet but I’m hoping that Mum took some for you. He loves the chance to play the role and thinks it offsets the times people only remember him as playing the baddy in pantomime. Of course his only stunts were eating mince pies and drinking mulled wine, but he was quite prepared to travel on a flying sled if there was the opportunity.

I was delighted that Alfie gave me his new jumper. It doesn’t actually fit him, despite Mum apparently ordering the right size. We always seem to find this with dog clothes. They don’t really size them for dogs with broad chests and long bodies. Anyway, the good news is that it fits me and I’m very happy about it as I rather like it and it means on Christmas Eve Mum and I can wear almost matching jumpers. I’m so lucky to have a doggy pal like Alfie. We get on so well. He never minds me being around, which is more than can be said for the others. He even lets me cuddle up to him, which I really like doing. It does make me wish I’d known him when he was younger. I think we could have been great playmates then. He does tolerate when I forget his age and jump on him now, but then just asks quietly if I could stop. For some reason he particularly doesn’t like it when he’s trying to pee and I jump on him. Mum says that I can still be quite an annoying puppy at times, but I see it more as enthusiastic.

Now I’m looking forward to all the Christmas excitement and especially to my big walk with Koppa on Christmas morning. He’s an Entlebucher too and we’re going for a really good muddy romp together before the humans have eaten too much to want to do anything.

Have a good week.

Love Wilma
