It’s a good job one of us knows what’s going on. Wilma got so excited talking about mud yesterday that she forgot she was supposed to be launching her competition to win free tickets to Crufts. Crufts is one of the biggest dog shows in the world and this year it is celebrating its 125th anniversary, which is pretty special. Anyway, it’s in March from 10th to the 13th at the NEC near Birmingham and adult tickets normally cost from £16.20 for Thursday and Friday to £18.36 on Saturday and Sunday but we are giving away two pairs of tickets absolutely free. If you can’t wait to see if you win then you can buy tickets HERE.
Wilma is very excited about seeing lots of things that she plans to take part in in future. There’s the Good Citizen Scheme Dog Training Ring which will be all about the Kennel Club’s Good Citizen dog training scheme. Wilma will start her bronze when she finishes her current puppy course. Then there is the Dog Activities Ring where she wants to learn about all the dog sports and activities that she might be able to go along to. She is also very excited about going to watch Basil, Dickens and Addie competing in the main show itself. She wants to learn what she has to do as if all goes to plan she hopes to be in the ring herself next year and will go to her very first class in ring craft this week if things work out.
It’s not just for pedigree dogs either, most of the activities are for any dog and there is also the Scruffts show ring especially for Cross-breeds. It’s a great way to introduce kids to the things they could try with junior-handler competitions as well. My own favourite is Friends for Life where dogs are recognised for the really valuable contribution they make to the lives of some humans. Then of course there’s Discover Dogs that Wilma will be taking part in this year. That’s where anyone can get to meet over 200 breeds up close and even get licked if they get too close to Wilma!
Now then for your chance to win a free pair of tickets to Crufts all you have to do is email me at alfie@alfiedog.me.uk with the answer to this question: Our breed is judged in the Working category, so which day will they be in the ring – you can find the answer by visiting the Crufts site HERE You’ve got until Saturday 20th February to enter and Wilma will announce the winner on Monday 22nd. If you’re lucky she will arrange to have her photo taken with you as well!
If you want a smile you can watch some of the Crufts Bloopers HERE too
