Monday 10th August 2015 – Jake’s leg

Good news. Enough money has been raised for Jake to have his leg operated on (see yesterday’s post). The specialist has agreed to do the operation for a much reduced cost and Jake will hopefully be operated on very soon. We’ll let you know how he goes on.

I had a lovely weekend at my grandparents. I always find it so relaxing to be the only dog for a couple of days and really unwind. I think I need to persuade our Mistress to take me away more often. For me, that is one of the biggest disappointments about the fact we won’t be having the puppy we hoped for. I was going on the trip with our Mistress to collect her and we were going to make it a little holiday treat for my 10th birthday. Obviously I’m going to have to think of something equally nice to ask for as a treat for my special birthday. Grandpa is having lunch on a steam train for his, so I need to do some thinking. I already know I don’t want to go on a steam train. I found them a bit too noisy when I did go on one. I made the mistake of standing too close when it let off steam and it made me jump.

This week will be the first week the three of us dogs will be all back together and in the same room most of the time. It has taken until now for Shadow’s hormones to be at a level where Aristotle does not just become hyperactive as soon as she’s around. The downside is it will be harder to find a quiet space but I know our Mistress prefers us all to be together. I may slip off into the other room for a while when I want a deeper nap.
