There I was getting used to it being sunny and warm and whilst I was napping someone came and stole summer. Now I’m not saying I want it to be too hot, that would be silly as I have a black coat that I can’t take off, but I do like it warm and with blue sky and preferably without the cold wind as well. For one thing it eases my arthritis when it’s dry and for another it gives me a much wider range of places to choose between for my naps. On top of that the rest of the family are more cheerful, which is always a good thing. I don’t know how it was possible for summer to have been stolen, but it’s happened and if you have any information which would lead to its return then I would be more than happy to hear from you. In the meantime I’m just going to curl up in my basket and wait for its return.
The night before last when we went to bed there was a large rabbit sitting on our drive. It looked very comfortable but our Mistress being the softy she is thought it was an odd place to sit in the rain so went to check if it was ok I’m pleased to say it said it was fine and hopped onto the grass to prove a point. It still sat out in the rain, which seemed a bit strange even to me. It wasn’t there in the morning so it either got bored or had a better idea and found somewhere to shelter. I think our Mistress had been all for inviting it in out of the rain and I’m guessing my ‘love’ of rabbits was the only thing that stopped her. I can appreciate them from a distance if the wind is blowing their scent in a different direction.
