You aren’t going to believe this. Yesterday our Mistress very carefully glued another strip of the bird deterrent spikes and held it in place on the window ledge to make it stick. She had remembered to check that the window would still close afterwards and all was well. She turned her back and walked to the bathroom and before she had even got as far as washing her hands she could hear the crow tapping. It got worse, not only did he have the audacity not to be deterred but he was sitting on the strip that the glue hadn’t yet dried on and simply eyed my Mistress nonchalantly as though he had every right to be there. She is now looking at less aesthetically acceptable solutions! You have to admit he’s got spirit if nothing else. She did ask in the pub for ideas, but sadly most of the ones that people came up with involved rather extreme solutions involving the demise of the crow and she really doesn’t like any animal being injured. She had enough problems despatching Mickey and Mini from the loft and they were eating her belongings and putting cables at risk.
As you will have realised Shadow’s season has still not started and our Mistress is getting more and more stressed by it. The timing is now risking being very inconvenient, but of course that has never stopped Shadow before so I’m guessing she’ll pick the optimal moment of inconvenience. I know it’s all my fault that she got into this in the first place, but I can’t help but think she’d find it easier to keep rabbits. She says one of the things that keeps her going is to look round the office at some of the lovely pictures of Shadow’s puppies and just how wonderful they are. Ari says she doesn’t need to look at the pictures but could just look at him!
