Of course the sealant she was going to use to stick the spikes on was solid and unusable. I’d told her it would be, but she didn’t listen. Not just the one container you understand. She’d got brown sealant, clear sealant and for some reason two lots of white. All of them were solid! Oh she’d done the thing of screwing a screw in the end and putting caps back on, but let’s be honest, if you are going to keep things like that for several years after opening them then it is probably inevitable! She is off to buy some glue later (and some new sealant!) and has thankfully found she can stick it from inside without having to climb a long way up a ladder. Let’s see what the crow has to say about it later on! The spikes are not unattractive and she’s wondering whether to stick them in strategic locations around the patio and summerhouse roof to discourage the pigeons from sitting there and leaving rather a lot of clearing up to be done. I said she should see if they work first, otherwise the exercise might all be a little pointless.
I was looking for hotels around here for some of our dog friends to stay in soon and it is outrageous the number of hotels that refuse admission to dogs. This should be covered by the discrimination legislation. Oh you might argue it’s their business and they can make the rules, but you wouldn’t be saying that if it were women they were refusing admission to. There is legislation to prevent discrimination in some important areas but we dogs are given no consideration at all. It is morally wrong and needs to be addressed. Our Mistress is getting a little more involved in politics and I told her she should be making issues such as these are top priorities. I’m not sure she was listening.

Don’t be too harsh on your mistress Alfie, I’ve found numerous solid sealants over time myself – in spite of being just as careful as she was with the caps etc. 😉
Good luck, with finding a decent hotel as well!
Thank you, have a woofly day.
